Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a score of 72.2, which is a bit better than Galaxy Note 8.0's 69.2 general score. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 comes with Windows 8.1 Pro operating system, while Galaxy Note 8.0 comes with Android 4.4.2 operating system. Even though the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is newer than Galaxy Note 8.0, it's somewhat thicker and heavier.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with an extra graphics processing unit and a larger number of cores. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with just a bit better screen than Galaxy Note 8.0, because it has a just a little more pixels per screen inch, a way higher resolution of 1440 x 2160px and a much larger display.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has much more memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy Note 8.0, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage capacity. The Galaxy Note 8.0 captures better photographs and videos than Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
