The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is just a bit better than the Galaxy Note 8.0, having a 72.1 score against 69.2. Both of these devices include the same Android 4.4.2 OS, so you shouldn't perceive any differences regarding operating system features. Galaxy Tab S 10.5's design is newer and somewhat thinner, but also noticeably heavier than Galaxy Note 8.0.
