Microsoft Surface Pro works with Windows 8 Pro operating system, while Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with Android 4.1 operating system. Although it's the best portable tablet in this comparison review, it must be told that it is also heavier and a lot thicker.

The Microsoft Surface Pro has a more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a lot better 1080 x 1920 resolution, a quite larger display and more pixels per inch in the screen. Microsoft Surface Pro has a better performing CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface Pro also has a greater amount of RAM and an extra GPU.

Microsoft Surface Pro features a way bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has no slot for an external memory card, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) features a way better battery life than Microsoft Surface Pro.

Although Microsoft Surface Pro is a better device, it costs more money than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1). So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Microsoft Surface Pro, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), giving up a couple features and specifications.
