Comparison review
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a global score of 61.4, which is a bit better than Microsoft Surface RT's 58.4 global score. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with Android 4.1 operating system, while Microsoft Surface RT works with Windows RT operating system. Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) and the Microsoft Surface RT were only released with a couple months difference, the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) body is somewhat lighter but also a little thicker than the Microsoft Surface RT.
Microsoft Surface RT has a little sharper screen than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a just a bit worse screen density, it also counts with a bit higher resolution of 768 x 1366px and a quite bigger display. Microsoft Surface RT features a very superior storage capacity for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage.
Microsoft Surface RT counts with a more powerful CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has an extra graphics co-processor, more RAM memory and a larger number of faster cores. Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a very superior battery duration than Microsoft Surface RT. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a very superior camera than Microsoft Surface RT, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (HD) video definition, the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) also has a camera with way more mega pixels.
Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Microsoft Surface RT, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Microsoft Surface RT. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy the Microsoft Surface RT, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
