Galaxy Tab A (2016) counts with a bit better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a way smaller display, and they both have the same resolution of 800 x 1280px, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) also counts with a greater quantity of pixels per screen inch.

Galaxy Tab A (2016) captures a little bit better pictures and videos than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 1280x720 (HD) video quality, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) also has a back-facing camera with way more mega pixels. Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) features a greater storage capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have equal internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) also has a slot for an external memory card that holds a maximum of 200 GB.

The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) features a very superior battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has 7000mAh of battery capacity against 4000mAh.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016). If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), letting go some specs and features, but you will get the most with your savings.
