The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has an overall score of 61.4, which is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7's score of 60.5. Both tablets in our current comparison include Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has older 4.1 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat version. Despite being the best in this comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) design is a lot older, incredibly heavier and way thicker than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7.

Galaxy Tab A 9.7 features a little bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a higher amount of RAM memory and a higher number of faster cores. Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a better looking display than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a just a bit higher pixels density, a quite larger screen and a slightly better resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels.

Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) captures just a bit better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, although it has a worse 1280x720 video definition and a way less mega pixels resolution back-facing camera. The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has a much bigger storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has 8 GB more internal memory capacity and a SD extension slot that holds up to 128 GB.

Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with longer battery performance than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a 17% greater battery size.

Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, letting go a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your budget.
