The Galaxy Tab A8 has a global score of 62.6, which is a bit better than the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1)'s 61.4 overall score. The Galaxy Tab A8 is a notably newer tablet device, and it is also extremely thinner and somewhat lighter than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1). These tablets come with Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab A8 has a more recent 11 version while Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has Android 4.1.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) features a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, although it has a way worse pixels density, a little bit smaller display and a way lower resolution of 800 x 1280px. The Galaxy Tab A8 counts with a much greater storage capacity for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has more internal storage and an external memory slot that allows up to 1 TB.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with a much better performing CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, although it has a lower amount of RAM and an inferior number of cores (but faster). Galaxy Tab A8 has a slightly better camera than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a back-facing camera with much more mega pixels.

The Galaxy Tab A8's battery life is very similar to the battery performance in Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), although the Galaxy Tab A8 also has a 7040mAh battery capacity.
