Xperia Tablet Z has a general score of 68.5, which is a bit better than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1's score of 62.7. The Xperia Tablet Z design is a lot thinner and somewhat lighter than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, although they were released with only 3 months difference. These devices come with Android operating system, but the Xperia Tablet Z has the newer 4.4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has Android 4.0 version, so it provides you a couple additional features and performance enhancements.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z features a bit superior processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and although they both have a 400 megahertz graphics processing unit, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z also has 1 GB more RAM and a higher number of cores. The Xperia Tablet Z counts with a more vivid screen than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Xperia Tablet Z also has way more pixels per screen inch and a way better resolution of 1200 x 1920px.

The Xperia Tablet Z captures a lot better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because it has a way higher resolution camera in the back. Xperia Tablet Z features a lot bigger storage capacity to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and although they both have a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 64 GB, the Xperia Tablet Z also has 24 GB more internal memory capacity.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 counts with improved battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Tablet Z, because it has a 7000mAh battery size instead of 6000mAh.

Although Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Xperia Tablet Z, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, resigning a couple specs and features.
