Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a newer tablet device, and it is also a bit lighter and noticeably thinner than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0).

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a CPU that's very similar to Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0)'s CPU, because although the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has less cpu cores (although faster), it also counts with more RAM. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) counts with a bit better looking screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has a bit worse 600 x 1024 resolution and a little smaller display, it also counts with a just a bit higher amount of pixels per inch in the display.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) has a slightly better camera than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, although it has a lot lower 3 mega-pixels resolution back-facing camera and a lower 1280x720 video definition. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a quite bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and although they both have the same 16 GB internal memory, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 also has a SD card slot that supports a maximum of 128 GB.
