Even though Apple iPad mini 3 is newer than Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch, it's a little thicker and a little heavier. Apple iPad mini 3 comes with iOS 8.x operating system, while Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch comes with Android 4.2.2 operating system.
