The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a general score of 68.7, which is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1's overall score of 62.7. The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch is a thinner and much lighter tablet device than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, even when both were released only 8 months apart. Both tablets in this review include Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has newer 4.2.2 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has Android 4.0 version, offering some extra features and enhanced performance.
The Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch counts with a little more vivid display than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because although it has a really smaller display, and they both have the same 800 x 1280 resolution, the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also counts with more pixels per screen inch. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch features much more memory to store more games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and although they both have an external SD slot that holds up to 64 GB, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also has 24 GB more internal storage.
