Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a general score of 68.7, which is better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1)'s 61.4 global score. Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch's body is newer, extremely thinner and much lighter than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1). Both tablets in this comparison work with Android OS, but Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has newer 4.2.2 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has Android 4.1.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch counts with a superior performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have a Dual-Core CPU, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also has a graphics co-processor and a larger amount of RAM. Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch has a slightly better screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a really smaller screen, and they both have an equal 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, the Galaxy Tab 3 8-inch also counts with more pixels per display inch.
