The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 design is extremely newer and notably thinner, but also incredibly heavier than the Galaxy Tab. These devices use Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has a newer 4.4.2 version and Galaxy Tab has Android 2.3.3.
