Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is a a lot newer and somewhat thinner device than the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, although it's also extremely heavier. Both tablets in this review come with Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has newer 4.4.2 version and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition has Android 3.2, counting with a couple additional features and improved performance.
The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition has a little more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have the same exact 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition also counts with a little better screen density. Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 features a bit better performance than Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, because it has a greater amount of RAM memory, a faster graphics co-processor working at 450 megahertz and a larger number of cores.
The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition features a bit better camera than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and although they both have the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition also has a camera with a way better 5 megapixels resolution. The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 counts with just a bit bigger memory capacity for applications and games than Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, because although it has only 16 GB internal storage, it also counts with a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 64 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 features a much longer battery life than Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, because it has 6800mAh of battery capacity against 3900mAh.
