Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition is an interesting tablet released in 2011, packing a great performance 1.2 GHz Dual-Core CPU, a 8.2" display, a 5 MP back camera and a 1.3 MP front camera. That's everything we have to say? No, it's just the shortest summary in the world.
Motorola sells this tablet with a TI OMAP 4430 chip, which holds a good performance 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor and 1 GB RAM. Graphic intensive games and applications usually eats a lot of processing time, so the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition also has an extra PowerVR SGX540 GPU clocking at 200 MHz to improve overall performance. A great point of the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition is its 32 GB big internal memory and even though it doesn't come with an external memory slot, it is still enough to store lots of applications, games, songs, photos and videos without thinking about filling it.
The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition feels a bit heavy for a device of this size, weighting 13.62 oz. Even though this tablet is only 8.5 inches long, it manages to pack a 8.2 inches screen. The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition is extremely slim and good-looking, being just 0.35" thick.
This device includes a nice 800 x 1280 8.2 inches display, which makes all photos and movies look quite vivid. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.
This device offers wifi connection (but it can't be provided to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) data connection, that is not so fast as LTE or LTE-A 4G networks and the fastest 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This tablet uses a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.
The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition is equipped with two cameras, a 5 MP back side camera and a 1.3 megapixels front camera. It is capable of capturing videos in HD 1280x720 at 30 fps. In addition, the camera has flash and auto-focus.
This tablet also includes some nice characteristics like Infrared Port, Bluetooth and GPS Geolocation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.
This tablet uses a 3900 mAh long lasting Li-Ion non-replaceable battery that provides the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition a great battery duration. An issue to consider is that this tablet's battery is not replaceable so you can't throw it away and buy a new one when it starts to get older, although with its 3900 mAh you will probably discard this tablet before that becomes a real problem.
If you want a tablet for work, will use it as a gamer tablet or will use this tablet mostly for social networks, you will definitely love this tablet.
