Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition is an interesting tablet released many years ago, which features a powerful Dual-Core CPU clocking at 1200 megahertz, a big 8.2-inches touch-screen, a 5 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front side camera. But let's get into much more details.
Motorola decided to sell this portable tablet with a TI OMAP 4430 chip, holding a fast 1200 megahertz Dual-Core processing unit and 1 GB RAM memory. Graphic calculations generally consume a lot of CPU cycles, so it also has an additional PowerVR SGX540 GPU speeding at 200 MHz to take care of them, leaving the CPU free for other tasks. A good advantage of this device is its big 16 GB internal storage memory and while it doesn't count with an external memory card slot, it is enough to install a couple hundred apps, although it probably wouldn't be enough if you are fan of the heaviest games currently available or taking tons of pictures and videos.
This time, it seems like Motorola forgot about optimizing the weight in this 13.62 ounces tablet. The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition has a gorgeous design, with a thickness of just 0.35". This tablet is a very compact device, taking into account that it packs a 8.2 inches display and it only has 8.5" long and 5.47" wide.
The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition features two cameras, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. It is also able to capture videos up to 1280x720 (HD) at 30 fps. The camera also has auto-focus and flash.
Motorola designed the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition with a good level 8.2" screen, and a resolution of 800 x 1280 , making everything look quite nice. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.
This tablet provides Wi-Fi connection (although it can't provide it to other devices acting as a hotspot), 4G HSPA+ connectivity, which is not as fast as LTE or LTE-A 4G networks and fast 3G data connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition works with a SIM card for GSM connection.
The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition counts with a 3900 mAh incredible Li-Ion non-replaceable battery that can keep this tablet device running for many hours without charging it at all. An issue to take into consideration is that the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition's battery is non-replaceable so you can't buy a new battery when it starts to have trouble holding its charge, even though with so much capacity you will probably replace this device before it becomes a real problem.
This tablet also features some useful features as Infrared Blaster, Bluetooth (for communication with other tablets and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.
This tablet is probably the correct choice for you no matter if you are looking for a work device, want it majorly for social networks or want a gamer portable tablet.
