Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, with a overall score of 68.3 against 67.8. Although Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is somewhat thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, it's notably lighter and also much newer. Both of these tablets use Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has a more recent 8.1 Oreo version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has Android 4.4.2, so it offers a couple additional features and performance improvements.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) features a lot better camera than Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, because it has a camera with way more megapixels and a much better 1920x1080 video resolution.
Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 counts with a much longer battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has 6800mAh of battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. If you want to save some money, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and give up some specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
