The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 counts with a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has doesn't have an additional GPU, and they both have the same number of cores, the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also counts with more RAM memory. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a more vivid display than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a little bigger display, a way better 1600 x 2560 resolution and a way higher pixels count per inch in the screen.
The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a way better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and a back-facing camera with lot more mega-pixels. The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 features a very superior storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 features a superior battery life than Amazon Fire HDX 8.9.
Although Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and give up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
