Comparison review
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, having a 72.2 score against 66.2. Although it's the best portable tablet we are comparing, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 construction is thicker and incredibly heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with Windows 8.1 Pro OS, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 comes with Android 4.4.2 OS.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a slightly better display than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, although it has a quite worse screen pixels density, a lot smaller screen and a way worse resolution of 1280 x 800px. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit and less processing cores (but faster), it also counts with a higher amount of RAM.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 shoots a little bit better videos and photos than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, although it has a back-facing camera with much less mega pixels and a way worse video definition. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with a very superior storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage capacity.
The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a really longer battery life than Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
Although Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Microsoft Surface Pro 3, else you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, letting go a couple features and specs.
