The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has an overall score of 66.2, which is just a bit better than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3's global score of 65. Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with Android 4.4.2 OS, while Samsung ATIV Tab 3 has Windows 8 OS. Galaxy Tab 4 8.0's design is newer, incredibly lighter and a bit thinner than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3.
The Samsung ATIV Tab 3 counts with a CPU that's very similar to the CPU in Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although the Samsung ATIV Tab 3 has doesn't have an additional GPU and 2 less CPU cores (but faster), it also counts with more RAM. The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a bit better looking screen than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, because although it has a much smaller display and a quite lower 1280 x 800px resolution, it also counts with a little higher pixels density.
The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a much better camera than Samsung ATIV Tab 3, although it has a camera with way less MP and a lot worse 1280x720 (HD) video resolution. The Samsung ATIV Tab 3 counts with a lot bigger storage capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 features a very superior battery performance than Samsung ATIV Tab 3.
Although Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is a better device, it costs more than the Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung ATIV Tab 3. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy Samsung ATIV Tab 3, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
