The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is a bit better than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, getting a overall score of 66.2 against 60.5. Both of these tablets include Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has the older 4.4.2 version while Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 is an older and a little thicker device than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, but Samsung was able to make it extremely lighter anyway.

Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a lot better display than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with more pixels per inch in the display and a little higher resolution of 1280 x 800px. The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 features just a bit more storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 also has an external memory card slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and although they both have 4 cpu cores and the same RAM memory amount, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 also has an additional GPU. Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 takes a bit better pictures and videos than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, although it has a camera with much less MP resolution and a lower 1280x720 video definition.

The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 features greater battery life than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity against 4450mAh.
