Galaxy Tab Active 3 is better than the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, with a general score of 79 against 66.2. The Galaxy Tab Active 3 is a way newer tablet than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, but it's a lot thicker and heavier. Both of these devices come with Android OS, but Galaxy Tab Active 3 has the previous 10 version while Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has Android 4.4.2 version.
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 has a bit better display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and although they both have a same size screen, the Galaxy Tab Active 3 also has more pixels per inch in the screen and a much better resolution of 1200 x 1920px. The Galaxy Tab Active 3 counts with a quite superior performance than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, it also counts with a larger number of cores and more RAM memory.
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 captures much clearer photographs and videos than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a back facing camera with a way higher 13 mega pixels resolution and a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 counts with much more storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a slot for an SD memory card that supports a maximum of 1 TB and 64 GB internal storage capacity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 has a little better battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a 13% more battery size.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, resigning a couple specs and features.
