Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has an overall score of 74.5, which is better than the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0's 66.2 overall score. Galaxy Tab S 8.4's construction is just a little lighter and somewhat thinner than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, although they were released with only 2 months difference. Both devices in this review come with the same Android 4.4.2 OS (Operating System).
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a much better looking screen than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a much better screen pixels density, a bit bigger screen and a way higher resolution of 2560 x 1600. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has just a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has doesn't have a graphics co-processor, it also counts with more cpu cores and a larger amount of RAM.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a much bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has an external SD slot that admits up to 128 GB and 32 GB internal memory capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a much better camera than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a much higher resolution camera and a way higher 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 counts with just a little bit longer battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has 4900mAh of battery capacity instead of 4450mAh.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 costs more than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, but you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
