The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, with a 65.7 score against 58.8. Although the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is a bit thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, it's much lighter and also way newer. Both of these devices come with Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has 9.0 Pie version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has Android 4.0 version.
