Comparison review

The Xperia Tablet S has a general score of 58.9, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE's overall score of 58.8. Both devices in our current comparison use Android OS (Operating System), but Xperia Tablet S has newer 4.1.1 version and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has Android 4.0. Xperia Tablet S's design is newer, but thicker and a lot heavier than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE features a bit more vivid display than Sony Xperia Tablet S, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have the same exact 800 x 1280 resolution, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE also counts with a little greater pixel density. Sony Xperia Tablet S counts with a much bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a SD memory slot that admits up to 128 GB and more internal storage capacity.

Sony Xperia Tablet S features a little bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a higher number of cores (but slower) and a graphics co-processor. Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE counts with a much longer battery lifetime than Xperia Tablet S. Xperia Tablet S shoots clearer photographs and videos than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because it has a much better 8 mega-pixels resolution camera.
