The Microsoft Surface 2 is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, getting a general score of 63.4 against 58.1. The Microsoft Surface 2 is a much newer portable tablet than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, although it's just a little bit thicker and notably heavier. The Microsoft Surface 2 comes with Windows RT 8.1 OS, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 comes with Android 3.0 OS.
Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a quite superior hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a greater number of faster cores. Microsoft Surface 2 counts with a screen that is very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 one, although the Microsoft Surface 2 also has a just a little higher pixel quantity per inch of display, a much better 1080 x 1920 resolution and a larger display.
Microsoft Surface 2 shoots clearer photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a way higher 5 mega-pixels resolution back camera and a lot better 1920x1080 video definition. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Microsoft Surface 2, otherwise you can save some money and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, resigning some features and specs.
