The Microsoft Surface Pro has a global score of 63.2, which is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9's 58.1 score. Microsoft Surface Pro's construction is newer, but noticeably thicker and a lot heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Microsoft Surface Pro counts with Windows 8 Pro operating system, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with Android 3.0 operating system.

Microsoft Surface Pro has a better processing unit than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have a Dual-Core processing unit, the Microsoft Surface Pro also has an additional GPU. Microsoft Surface Pro counts with a display that's very similar to the screen in Galaxy Tab 8.9, although the Microsoft Surface Pro also has a just a little more pixels per inch of screen, a lot better resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a bigger display.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1280x720 (HD) video quality, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 also has a lot higher resolution back-facing camera. Microsoft Surface Pro counts with a superior memory for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has 128 GB internal memory capacity.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a much better battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface Pro.
