The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a global score of 60.4, which is slightly better than Galaxy Tab 8.9's score of 58.1. These tablets include Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has newer 5.1 Lollipop version while Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 version, so it counts with some additional features. Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016)'s body has the same thickness than Galaxy Tab 8.9, but it is much lighter.

Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a bit faster CPU than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a higher number of cores.
