The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 body is newer, notably lighter and somewhat thinner than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both of these tablets work with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a more recent 7.1 Nougat version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0.
