Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 is much better than Galaxy Tab 8.9, having a 74.6 score against 58.1. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 body is incredibly newer and somewhat thinner than Galaxy Tab 8.9's, but it is also a little heavier. These tablets use Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has newer 4.4 version and Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0, so it gives you lots of additional features and performance tweaks.
