Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is slightly better than the Sony Tablet S, getting a 58.1 score against 57.5. Both tablets in this comparison have Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has an older 3.0 version while Sony Tablet S has Android 4.0. Even though Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Sony Tablet S were released with only 1 months difference, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a lot lighter and somewhat thinner.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has just a bit better looking screen than Sony Tablet S, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also counts with a little bit higher pixel quantity per inch of screen. Sony Tablet S has just a little better processing power than Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both have 2 CPU cores.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a little bit better memory to install applications and games than Sony Tablet S, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with improved battery duration than Sony Tablet S, because it has a 20 percent bigger battery capacity.
The Sony Tablet S takes much better photographs and videos than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have the same 1280x720 video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Sony Tablet S also has a lot more mega pixels back camera.
