The Xperia Tablet S has a score of 58.9, which is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9's general score of 58.1. Both of these tablets come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia Tablet S has newer 4.1.1 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 version, providing you some additional features. Even though the Xperia Tablet S is newer than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, it's noticeably thicker and heavier.
The Sony Xperia Tablet S counts with a more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has an extra graphics processing unit and more processing cores.
