Comparison review
The Xperia Tablet Z is better than Galaxy Tab 8.9, with a global score of 68.5 against 58.1. Xperia Tablet Z is a newer and incredibly thinner tablet than Galaxy Tab 8.9, but it is also a little bit heavier. Both of these devices come with Android OS (operating system), but the Xperia Tablet Z has 4.4.4 version while Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 version.
Xperia Tablet Z features a faster processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has an additional graphics processing unit and a larger number of cores. The Xperia Tablet Z features a little more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a quite larger screen, a higher pixels quantity in each inch in the display and a much better 1200 x 1920px resolution.
The Xperia Tablet Z takes much better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a much better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and a back-facing camera with lot more MP. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a little bit more storage capacity for applications and games than Xperia Tablet Z, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 32 GB more internal memory capacity.
Xperia Tablet Z and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 both feature very similar battery performance.
Although Sony Xperia Tablet Z is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy Tab 8.9. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Sony Xperia Tablet Z, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Tab 8.9, giving up some features and specifications.
