Both tablets in this comparison come with Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Google Nexus 7 has Android 5.1. Even though the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is notably heavier than the Google Nexus 7, it's way thinner and a lot newer.
