Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is much better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, having a 74.5 score against 66.2. Both of these tablets have Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has Android 4.4.2. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5's construction has the same thickness than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, but it's much heavier.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 features a little bit better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, it also counts with more RAM and a higher number of cores. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 features a bit sharper screen than Galaxy Tab A 10.5, although it has a lot smaller screen, a quite inferior amount of pixels per inch of display and a much lower 1280 x 800 resolution.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 features a superior memory to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has 16 GB more internal storage and an external SD slot that admits a maximum of 400 GB. Galaxy Tab A 10.5 takes much better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a lot better resolution back camera and a much higher 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 features a much longer battery performance than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a 64% larger battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
