The Apple iPad mini 3 comes with iOS 8.x OS, while Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The Apple iPad mini 3 is an older and somewhat heavier tablet device than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), but Apple managed to make it somewhat thinner anyway.
