Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a global score of 60.4, which is slightly better than Asus MeMO Pad 8's score of 60.1. Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016)'s construction is newer and just a little lighter, but thicker than the Asus MeMO Pad 8. These tablets come with Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has the newer 5.1 Lollipop version while Asus MeMO Pad 8 has Android 4.4 version.

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a brighter screen than Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has a little bit larger screen, a greater pixel density and a way better resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a slightly better memory to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), because although it has a SD extension slot that allows up to 64 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with 16 GB internal storage capacity.

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Asus MeMO Pad 8 also has 512 MB more RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) features a much better camera than Asus MeMO Pad 8. Both of them have the same video frame rates, the same 1280x720 video quality and a camera in the back with a 5 MP.

Galaxy Tab A (2016) counts with a superior battery lifetime than Asus MeMO Pad 8.

Although Galaxy Tab A (2016) is a better device, it costs more than the Asus MeMO Pad 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Asus MeMO Pad 8. If you prefer to save some money, you can get Asus MeMO Pad 8, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your money.
