Comparison review

The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), getting a 61.4 score against 60.4. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) design is older, thicker and notably heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016). Both of these tablets include Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has the previous 4.1 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has Android 5.1 Lollipop version.

The Galaxy Tab A (2016) has a slightly better looking screen than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a really smaller screen, and they both have an equal 800 x 1280 resolution, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) also counts with a better pixel density. Galaxy Tab A (2016) counts with a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a higher number of cores and a larger amount of RAM memory.

Galaxy Tab A (2016) has more storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have the same 8 GB internal memory capacity, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) also has a slot for an SD memory card that holds a maximum of 200 GB. Galaxy Tab A (2016) shoots a little bit better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have the same 1280x720 (HD) video resolution and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) also has a back camera with lot more megapixels.

The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a way better battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016), because it has a 75% more battery capacity.

Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy Tab A (2016), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab A (2016). If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Galaxy Tab A (2016), giving up a couple features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
