Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a little bit better than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE, having a global score of 62.8 against 61.7. Galaxy Tab A 8.0's design is extremely newer, a bit lighter and noticeably thinner than the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE. These tablets come with Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has a newer 7.1 Nougat version while Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE has Android 4.1.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE has a little sharper display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has a little bit worse 600 x 1024 resolution and a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a little better amount of pixels in each screen inch. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features much more memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE, because it has 8 GB more internal storage capacity and an external memory slot that admits a maximum of 128 GB.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE both feature very similar CPUs, because although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE has less RAM memory and 2 less 1.2 gigahertz processing cores, it also counts with an additional graphics co-processor. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 counts with just a bit longer battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE, because it has a 5% greater battery capacity.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE shoots slightly better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, although it has a lower 1280x720 (HD) video resolution and a way less MP back-facing camera.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is a better device, it costs more than the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) LTE, resigning a couple features and specs.
