Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, with a 64.8 score against 62.8. Despite being the best in our current comparison, it must be noted that it's also an extremely older, a little thicker and a little heavier tablet. These tablets work with Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has older 4.0.4 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has Android 7.1 Nougat version.
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a little faster processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has lesser CPU cores and less RAM memory, it also counts with a GPU. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a bit higher quantity of pixels per inch of screen and a slightly better 800 x 1280 pixels resolution.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a very superior memory to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because although it has an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 32 GB against 128 GB, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity. Galaxy Tab 7.7 has longer battery life than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, because it has a 5100mAh battery size against 4200mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 takes a bit better photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 7.7, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 1280x720 (HD) video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 also has a back-facing camera with way more mega pixels.
Although Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy Tab A 8.0. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and give up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your budget.
