Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a score of 65.7, which is just a bit better than the Asus ZenPad Z8's score of 61.9. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) body is newer, but somewhat thicker and somewhat heavier than the Asus ZenPad Z8. The Asus ZenPad Z8 features a little faster processing unit than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), and although they both have 2 GB of RAM, the Asus ZenPad Z8 also has a greater number of faster cores.

The Asus ZenPad Z8 features a more vivid display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot higher display pixel density and a lot higher resolution of 1536 x 2048px. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) counts with a much better camera than Asus ZenPad Z8, and although they both have a same resolution back-facing camera, the same video frame rates and the same video quality, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) also has a bigger aperture to capture better low-light photography and video.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) counts with more memory capacity for games and applications than Asus ZenPad Z8, and although they both have exactly the same 16 GB internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) also has a SD card slot that holds up to 256 GB. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a little longer battery duration than Asus ZenPad Z8, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity instead of 4680mAh.
