Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has an overall score of 65.7, which is much better than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE's global score of 58.8. These tablets include Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has Android 4.0, counting with some nice extra features. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017)'s construction is way newer and lighter than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE's, but it is also a little bit thicker.
