The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), having a 75.2 score against 65.7. Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4's design is just a little bit lighter and somewhat thinner than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), although it was released many years before. Both of these tablets come with Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 has the older 4.4.2 version and Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has Android 9.0 Pie version.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 has a way better display than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because it has a lot higher resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a lot better pixel count per inch in the display and a little larger display. The Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 features a better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), and although they both have the same number of cores and a 2 GB RAM, the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 also has a GPU.

The Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 features a slightly better storage to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), because although it has a slot for an SD memory card that allows 192 GB smaller, it also counts with 16 GB more internal storage capacity. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) takes better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, although it has lower video frame rate, they both have a back facing camera with an 8 MP and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has just a little bit longer battery performance than Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity.
