The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is much better than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), having a 68.3 score against 58.6. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is an older and a little heavier tablet than the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), but Samsung was able to make it just a little bit thinner anyway. Both of these tablets have Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has the previous 8.1 Oreo version while Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie.
Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) has a little better processing power than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). They have a Quad-Core processor and the same RAM memory amount. The Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) features just a bit better screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). Both of them have the same count of pixels in each inch in the display, a screen of the same size and the same exact resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) shoots much better pictures and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), because it has a much higher 5 megapixels resolution back facing camera and a much higher 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution. Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) counts with more storage to store more apps and games than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) also has an external SD slot that allows up to 1000 GB.
Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has a much longer battery performance than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020).
Although Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020). So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020), resigning some features and specs.
