The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has a general score of 68.3, which is a bit better than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9's 67.9 score. Even though the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is somewhat thicker than the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, it's just a little bit lighter and also notably newer. These tablets include Android OS (operating system), but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has the newer 8.1 Oreo version and Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.4 version.

The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a bit better processor than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). Both have 2 GB of RAM and a Quad-Core processor.
