The Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) has an overall score of 77.4, which is much better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018)'s 68.3 overall score. Despite of the fact Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is way older and noticeably heavier than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), it's design is still thinner. Both tablets in this comparison review include Android OS, but Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) has the previous 4.4.2 version while Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has Android 8.1 Oreo.
Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) features an incredibly better display than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a way higher screen density, a way better 1600 x 2560 resolution and a larger display. Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) has slightly more memory capacity for apps and games than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because although it has a SD extension slot that admits 336 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity.
The Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) counts with a superior hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) also has an additional GPU and 1 GB more RAM. GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) counts with a much longer battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has an 8220mAh battery size against 5000mAh.
Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) features a way better camera than Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), although it has a much lower resolution back facing camera and a lower 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
Although Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), giving up some specs and features.
