The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has an overall score of 70.2, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018)'s 68.3 general score. Both of these tablets use the same Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, so you shouldn't see any differences in that aspect. Even though the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) is much older and heavier than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), it's construction is still a little bit thinner.
