The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) is just a bit better than Apple iPad Air 2, getting a 74.6 score against 74.2. The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has Android 9.0 Pie OS, while Apple iPad Air 2 has iOS 8.x OS. Although Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) is somewhat thicker than Apple iPad Air 2, it's a lot lighter and newer.
Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) has a little better performance than Apple iPad Air 2, because although it has a 32-bit processing unit against 64-bits, it also counts with a larger number of faster cores and 1 GB more RAM memory. IPad Air 2 features a better looking display than Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), because although it has a little inferior pixel count in each inch in the display, it also counts with a little higher resolution of 2048 x 1536px and a bigger screen.
Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) counts with a way bigger storage for apps and games than iPad Air 2, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that supports a maximum of 512 GB and 32 GB internal storage. IPad Air 2's camera is just as good as Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020)'s camera, and although the iPad Air 2 has a much tinier aperture which is worse for low light images and video, they both have the same video resolution, a camera with an 8 mega pixels and the same 30 fps video frame rate.
Apple iPad Air 2 counts with a very superior battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020), because it has a 47% bigger battery capacity.
Although Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) is a better device, it costs a little more money than the Apple iPad Air 2, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Apple iPad Air 2. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get Apple iPad Air 2, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your money.
