Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, having a general score of 61.4 against 60.5. Although it's the best we are comparing here, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is an a lot older, noticeably thicker and incredibly heavier device than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. Both tablets in our current comparison use Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has an older 4.1 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a sharper screen than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a little higher resolution of 800 x 1280px, a bit more pixels per inch in the display and a little bigger display. Galaxy Tab A 9.7 counts with a superior memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has 16 GB internal storage and a slot for SD memory cards that holds a maximum of 128 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 features just a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a larger number of cores and more RAM memory. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with superior battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a 7000mAh battery capacity.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) shoots a bit better pictures and videos than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, although it has a camera with a much worse resolution and a lower video definition.
Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Galaxy Tab A 9.7. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy Galaxy Tab A 9.7, letting go a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
