Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 has a general score of 76.7, which is much better than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7's global score of 60.5. Both tablets in this comparison review include Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 has older 13 version while Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has Android 7.1 Nougat version. Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is a a lot newer and thinner device than the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, although it is also somewhat heavier.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 features a more vivid screen than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a little larger screen, a much greater pixels density and a lot higher resolution of 1600 x 2560. Galaxy Tab S8 features a much bigger storage for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has 128 GB internal storage and a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 1 TB.

The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 counts with a way better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, although it has lesser RAM and an inferior number of cores. Galaxy Tab S8 features a much better camera than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and a lot better 13 megapixels resolution camera.

The Galaxy Tab S8 has better battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, because it has 8000mAh of battery capacity.

Although Galaxy Tab S8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Tab A 9.7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Tab A 9.7. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Galaxy Tab S8, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, giving up some features and specifications.
